This is a free and independent website, supported in part by ads from commercial sponsors, but mostly by donations from the people who use the site - people like you. I would like the website to remain as independent as possible, so it would be great if it could be directly supported by the community. Everything is appreciated, and it all helps to support me as I develop and maintain the site. If you scroll down, you'll see options below for payment via PayPal or mail. Also, paypal has a subscription option if you would like to make monthly or yearly payments.

PLEASE NOTE: This website hosts journals and articles by many different people, some of whom talk about raising money for themselves or for charity. You cannot give to other people or charities via this page! It is only for donating to me, Neil Gunton, to help me defray the costs of developing and running this website. I am not a charity clearing house; I cannot handle or pass on money for third parties.

Donations are listed on the Sponsors page. If you are registered then you can see all your donations under My > Donations. If you're not registered, then by default your name is displayed, but the amount is shown as 'private'.

Thanks!

- Neil Gunton, Developer and Webmaster

Options:

Donate from your existing Paypal account

If you already have a Paypal account, and have money in it, then you can donate by using Paypal's 'Send Money' feature. The benefit of using this, over the credit card option, is that there are no charges on my end - personal transfers to friends and family are free on Paypal, as long as it comes from your existing Paypal balance, or linked bank account (there may be a foreign transaction charge if you are donating from outside the USA). If you want to do this, then you'll need to enter my email address into Paypal manually. Please send your donation to:

neil@crazyguyonabike.com

When entering addresses manually, it's important to double check the email to make sure it's going to the right person! I think the transaction will either show up on your account as my name or "Nilspace".

Donate using credit card

This is done via Paypal. You do not need to register with PayPal to make a payment using your credit card, and Paypal won't charge you anything to make the payment, but they will take out 2.9% plus $0.30 from my end of the transaction. The transaction will show on your credit card statement either as my name, or "Nilspace".

Paypal accepts: PayPal accepts Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, eCheck

Subscribe via PayPal or Credit Card

If you enjoy this website and think it's worth donating some money regularly on a monthly or yearly basis, then you can set up automatic payments using a major credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) or from any bank account (in the U.S.) via Paypal. PayPal doesn't charge you anything to make each payment, but they will take out 2.9% plus $0.30 from my end of each transaction. You can stop at any time by coming back to this page and using the "Cancel" button below. These transactions will show on your credit card statement either as my name, or "Nilspace".

(please see note)

Donate via Mail Order, Bank Check etc

You can also send a check (preferably from a US bank, made payable to Neil Gunton) to my home address:

Neil Gunton
1022 P St
Fortuna, CA 95540
+1 (707) 725-1835
neil (at) nilspace.com

If you are registered and want me to be able to post your donation on your account, then it's also a good idea to put your username on the check's memo line; as more and more people join the site, the odds increase that multiple people will have the same name, so the username helps me identify you. This additional information is especially important if you registered using a name that is different from the one shown on your check.

Many US banks now have "bill payment" services that allow you to have a check sent without charge, direct from the bank. This saves you postage and hassle in going to the post office, and also saves me the fees involved with PayPal. These services also usually have an option for doing regular payments, so you could use this do set up an automatic monthly "subscription".
