World Jamboree Trike Expedition
By Adam Kilpatrick and Stephen Warren-Smith - (contact)

Introduction

We Scouts, Adam Kilpatrick and Stephen Warren-Smith, will ride our recumbent trikes from our hometown of Adelaide, South Australia, to the 22nd World Scout Jamboree (22WSJ) in Rinkaby, Sweden. We will depart on the 31st of October, 2010 and ride to Perth, fly to Cape Town, and then ride the length of Africa to Cairo, through the Middle East, and Europe, arriving in time for the Jamboree start on the 27th of July 2011. The length of the planned route is a minimum of 22,000km, requiring an average daily distance of 81 km (including rest days). Our expedition will not have any support vehicles. We will camp as much as possible on route and will carry our own gear and equipment, sourcing food and water on our route.
