We met when we advertised for partners to partake in a bicycle tour of the Indian subcontinent. It was on this year-long trip we decided to get married. Since then we have lived in 5 countries and visited scores more. It was while cycling in Mali we conceived twins who subsequently spent their first 7 years growing up in Ethiopia, Taiwan, and Malaysia. Today we live in Boise with our boys and work as teachers in the public school system. Frustrated with the increasingly rapid pace of life, we decided to slow down, buy a triplet bike, and take a year off to explore our own country. Our boys, having grown up overseas, know relatively little about their own country. What better way to learn about America than seeing it from atop a bicycle!?! Our general plan (but we reserve the right to change our mind!) is to start in Boise and head west toward the ocean. From there we will head south along the coast. After wintering in Baja, Mexico, we will head up across the USA on a diagonal toward New England. We hope to be in New England by Summer, 2007.
