I'm over the 60 line (but still a big kid) and long-time cyclist, who rediscovered cycle touring in the late 1990s.
My journals are the stories of my tours with my fellow Canalligators. (I live in Palmyra NY, on the Erie Canal Heritage Trail.) I take varying length/difficulty trips with my wife Nina, my daughter Diana/son-in-law Marc/grandson Anthony, my son Jeff, my brother Dave and a few friends.
My personal web pages are here. You'll find a collection of stuff I thought was worth documenting. Of cycling interest are portraits of my bicycle fleet and cycling summary for the current year.
In 2009 I was diagnosed type 2 diabetic. I have good control with diet, exercise and a little medication. Touring requires a bit more care with eating, but it's working OK.
Cycling: It's how I beat my blood sugar into submission.
I'm also interested in transportation history, especially railroads and canals. I'm a model railroader, operating a prototypical, freelanced HO scale pike. I have a small O27 for the grandkids to use, and am building an N scale road with my grandson.
