I'm 53 years old. My wife and I have been married for 24 years and we have two wonderful sons, both in college. I used to cycle a lot in college, but gradually got away from it. I've recently come back to cycling since my knees now bother me when I run. I'm not interested in racing, and I don't bounce as good as I used to, ruling out extreme mountain biking. I've always enjoyed camping, however, so bicycle touring really appeals to me. I also enjoy history and photography, so I expect that my future travels will always include at bit of these endeavors as well.
I have a MS Degree in Biology, and I've worked for over 20 years with our state's environmental agency. I also serve part-time in the USAF Reserve, so I get to travel around the country and the world from time to time (and get paid for it!). Luckily, I can usually bring my bike along on these trips. Life is good.
